Our Physicians
Dr. William E. Barfield, Jr.
M.D., FACOG
William E. Barfield, Jr., MD, has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for over 55 years. A native of Augusta, Georgia, he graduated from The Citadel before earning his medical degree and completing his residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Barfield joined the practice in 1976 and has since delivered more than 10,000 babies. While his legacy is rooted in obstetrics, he now focuses his clinical practice on gynecologic exams, surgical procedures, and infertility, with a specialized interest in hormonal management.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Barfield is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and served as the Chairman of the OBGYN Department at University Hospital for 25 years and president of this group for 30 years. Notably, he was the first co-recipient of the “Curly Award,” presented in memory of the practice founder, Dr. W.G. “Curly” Watson. Outside of his medical leadership, Dr. Barfield and his wife are the parents of three sons and have six grandchildren.
Dr. Lucy Brantley
M.D., FACOG
Dr. Lucy Brantley joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2020. A Georgia native, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Georgia before completing both her medical degree and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.
Dr. Brantley values patient education and shared decision-making. She is passionate about taking care of women in all stages of life. Dr. Brantley’s special interests include general obstetrics and minimally invasive approaches to gynecologic surgery, including urinary incontinence procedures, pelvic floor disorders, and daVinci robotics.
Dr. Brantley and her husband have three children. Her free time is consumed with motherhood, traveling, fine dining, and exercise.
Dr. D. Scott Burns
M.D., FACOG
Dr. Burns joined our practice in 2003 after completing his four-year residency in OB-GYN at the Medical College of Georgia. He passed all his written and oral boards to become a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. He attended Penn State College of Medicine from 1995 to 1999. Before attending medical school, Dr. Burns worked for six years in corporate finance in New York City and Los Angeles. He attended Haverford College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he studied religion and philosophy. During his junior year of college, he studied at Harvard Divinity School.
Dr. Burns grew up in the small town of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania (an hour northwest of Philadelphia and the childhood home of Taylor Swift). His father was an ophthalmologist for 40 years, and his mother was a registered nurse before having children.
Dr. Burns married his classmate and fellow religion major from Haverford College and has three grown children who work as a nuclear engineer, a high school history teacher, and a chef.
Dr. Kathy Chance
M.D., FACOG
Dr. Kathy Chance has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for over 30 years. A native of Athens, Georgia, she graduated from the University of Georgia and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where she also completed her residency. Dr. Chance joined the practice in 1995 and has served in numerous leadership roles, including a recent term as President of OBGYN Partners of Augusta, as well as serving on various hospital boards and committees.
As a physician, Dr. Chance emphasizes patient education and shared decision-making to ensure her patients are empowered in their healthcare journeys. While her career includes a deep history in obstetrics, her current clinical practice focuses solely on gynecologic care. Her specialized interests include hormone replacement therapy, preventive medicine, and evidence-based wellness. She is highly experienced in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including da Vinci robotic procedures, hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, and laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Chance has been married for over 30 years and has four children; in her free time, she enjoys tennis, gardening, and reading.
Dr. Dalal Eldick
M.D., FACOG
Dalal Eldick, M.D. FACOG joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2018. She is a South Florida native with southern charm. After graduating from high school as valedictorian, she attended the University of Miami, where she majored in Neuroscience. She then continued her journey as a Miami Hurricane, went to medical school, and completed OB-GYN residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Health System. She has a special interest in general and high-risk pregnancy, as well as minimally invasive gynecology. She is well-versed in robotic, open, laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, and other technologies, which allow her to best serve her patients as an innovative surgeon.
When she’s not in the office seeing patients, you can find her spending time with her husband, Oz, and their two children, Lucas and Liyana “LJ”.
Dr. Taylor Jones
M.D., FACOG
Taylor Mitchell Jones, MD, joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2023. She is a native of Augusta, GA, where she graduated with honors from John S. Davidson Fine Arts. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Furman University. She matriculated at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Greenville. Her passion for women’s health led her to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed residency at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, where she served as the Wellness Chair and Diversity and Inclusion Representative and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
She was awarded the Wallace D. Mays Intern of the Year Award, Society for MFM Resident Award, Bob Stager Excellence in Medicine Award, and many student teaching awards.
She is passionate about taking care of women in all stages of life. She enjoys getting to know her patients so they can partner together to make informed decisions about their healthcare. Her special interests include adolescent health care, general and high-risk obstetrics, and minimally invasive approaches to gynecologic surgery.
When she is not working, she enjoys attending concerts, exercising, and traveling abroad.
Dr. John P. McDonough
M.D., FACOG
Dr. McDonough joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2006. After graduating from medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, he moved to Washington, D.C. for residency training at George Washington University. While there, he served as Chief Administrative Resident from 1997 to 1998. He then joined Annapolis OB-GYN, a busy private practice in Annapolis, Maryland, where he developed his interest in advanced laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.
In 2004, Dr. McDonough returned to Augusta with his wife and three children. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia before joining his current practice.
Dr. McDonough’s areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery, including the da Vinci Robotic surgery platform, operative hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and general obstetric care. His practice goal is to provide excellent patient care utilizing new and innovative technologies.
Dr. McDonough is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is certified by the Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. McDonough enjoys tennis, running, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Michel M. McDonough
M.D., FACOG
Dr. Michel McDonough has been caring for women since beginning his practice in 1995. A board-certified gynecologist, he is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for women at every stage of life.
After many years practicing both obstetrics and gynecology, he recently decided to focus exclusively on gynecology to devote his full attention to minimally invasive and robotic surgery, menopause management, and preventive well-woman care. His surgical expertise allows patients to benefit from advanced techniques that promote less pain, faster recovery, and excellent outcomes.
With decades of experience, Dr. McDonough believes in individualized care and partners closely with each patient to ensure they feel informed, respected, and confident in their healthcare decisions.
In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in medical education, working closely with OB-GYN residents to help train the next generation of physicians. He is passionate about mentorship and committed to fostering surgical excellence, clinical expertise, and compassionate patient care. He was honored to receive the Watson Award in recognition of his dedication to patient care, teaching, and professional excellence.
Outside of medicine, Dr. McDonough is a devoted husband with three children. He is an avid runner and tennis player, embracing an active lifestyle that reflects his commitment to overall wellness, a philosophy he encourages in his patients as well. His mission is to empower women through every phase of life, from preventive care to complex surgical management, with expertise, empathy, and respect.
Dr. Jennifer Morgan
M.D., FACOG
Dr. Jennifer Morgan has been providing care to women in the CSRA since 1999. She grew up in Covington, GA, and received her chemistry degree with a minor in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Morgan received the Alpha Omega Alpha honor, which is awarded to the top 5% of graduates in the class. She also served as administrative chief resident in her final year. She has called Augusta home since then and has loved developing long and meaningful relationships with her patients. Dr. Morgan enjoys taking care of patients from adolescence through menopause. She provides the full spectrum of gynecological care from contraception, infertility, hormonal therapy, and surgical needs with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery.
She and her husband Richard have a blended family of 4 children. In their spare time, they enjoy walking their chocolate lab, traveling, and spending time at the beach.
Dr. Carla Morgan-Gibbs
M.D., FACOG
Carla Morgan-Gibbs, M.D., moved to the Augusta area after living in North Carolina. She is a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, where she received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry. She then attended medical school at East Carolina University, where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine in May 1987. Dr. Morgan-Gibbs did her residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. She has been in private practice in the Augusta area for 35+ years. Dr. Morgan-Gibbs is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Special interests include adolescent gynecology, infertility, menopausal management, women’s wellness, and preventative care. Dr. Morgan-Gibbs is currently practicing Gynecology care after 24 years of Obstetrical practice! Dr. Morgan-Gibbs is excited about this transition in her practice and is devoted to Women’s care and women’s health. She believes in compassionate and patient-centered individualized care with patient participation in their health and wellness journey.
Dr. Kelly P. Norman
M.D., FACOG
Kelly P. Norman, M.D., joined Augusta GYN in 2006 (now OBGYN Partners of Augusta). She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her OB-GYN residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Norman provides gynecologic care for women in all phases of life. She has an interest in contraception, fertility, and endocrine effects on the menstrual cycle. She prefers a stepwise approach to the whole patient, with a focus on continuity of care.
A native of Augusta, GA, she is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Norman and her husband have three children.
Dr. Samantha Osteen-Forys
M.D., M.S., FACOG
Augusta native Dr. Samantha Osteen-Forys graduated from Westminster Schools of Augusta before earning her undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech. She then completed her Master of Science in Biology, Molecular Genetics, and Biochemistry at Georgia State University, followed by her Doctor of Medicine degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. Osteen-Forys completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where she has practiced since. She is thrilled to return to her hometown!
She is the recipient of the 2021 “President’s Certificate” award at the CAOG Annual Meeting and was published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Volume 228, with her work Long-term childhood outcomes for babies born at term who were exposed to antenatal corticosteroids.
Dr. Osteen-Forys is committed to fostering a welcoming environment where her patients feel informed and empowered to take an active role in their healthcare. She enjoys all aspects of women’s health, with special interests in general and high-risk obstetrics, preconception counseling, preventive care, adolescent gynecology, menstrual disorders, and minimally invasive surgery. She also specializes in endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, postmenopausal bleeding, ovarian cysts, and treatment for abnormal pap smears.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Osteen-Forys enjoys playing the harp and piano and participating in musical activities within her community. She and her husband, Phil, have one daughter. The Osteen-Forys family loves outdoor adventures with their dog, Sasha, and spending time together.
Dr. JulieAnn Parker
M.D., FACOG
JulieAnn Parker, M.D., has been with the OBGYN Partners of Augusta team since 2010. Dr. Parker has an undergraduate degree from Samford University. She then attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine and completed her residency and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Parker grew up in Georgia and has made Augusta her home since 2002. Dr. Parker’s special interests include adolescent gynecology, contraception, obstetrics, and minimally invasive surgery/hysterectomy.
Dr. Parker volunteers as the Director of Ultrasound Services for Hope Women’s Center. She considers medicine a calling and believes in providing the same care to her patients that she would want for her own family members.
Dr. Parker co-authored a case report published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2025. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She resides in Evans with her husband and their three children. She enjoys audiobooks, traveling, and outdoor adventures with her family.
Dr. Tania Serrano
M.D., F.A.C.O.G., A.B.A.A.R.M., NCMP
Dr. Tania Serrano is a board-certified OB-GYN with advanced board certification in anti-aging medicine through George Washington University. She is also recognized as a Certified Menopause Practitioner by The Menopause Society. Dr. Serrano earned her medical degree from Howard University and completed three years of general surgery training at New York Medical College before transitioning to her OB-GYN residency at Texas Tech Health Science Center.
Dr. Serrano aims to restore vitality and optimize long-term health through a patient-focused approach. She specializes in personalized hormone therapy, evidence-based lifestyle interventions, and targeted nutritional support, utilizing minimally invasive treatments when appropriate. Her clinical focus remains on healthy aging and functional restoration, helping patients maintain their quality of life through every life transition.
Dr. Shauna Summers
M.D.
Dr. Summers is a board-eligible obstetrician and gynecologist who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence based and patient-centered care for women at every stage of life. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville and completed her residency at the Medical College of Georgia, where she was selected as Chief Resident.
Dr. Summers has a special interest in preconception counseling, contraception care, obstetric care, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including robotic-assisted procedures. She is committed to creating a collaborative environment where patients feel informed, supported, and empowered to take an active role in their health. She believes that understanding one’s condition is a key part of achieving the best possible outcomes.
During her training, Dr. Summers developed a strong connection to the practice and was inspired by its commitment to patient care, leading her to remain with the group after completing residency. She is proud to serve the Augusta community, which she now calls home.
Outside of work, Dr. Summers enjoys spending time with her husband, a cardiology fellow at the Medical College of Georgia, and their daughter.
Dr. Lindsey Tingen
M.D., FACOG
Lindsey Tingen, MD, joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2022 after working initially in South Carolina. She has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2019. Originally from Marietta, GA, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) before completing medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency in OB-GYN at Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, SC. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Tingen feels blessed to be able to serve the women of the CSRA. She has a special interest in general and high-risk pregnancy care, contraception management, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. She is passionate about collaborating with her patients for the best possible outcomes! As a patient, you can expect a doctor who will truly listen to your problems and work to find what works best for you. She enjoys the lifelong relationship you form with women when taking care of them through pregnancy and beyond.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and two daughters! She loves to share her enjoyment of the outdoors with her children, whether at the park or on the Augusta Canal. In the evenings, you can find her cooking, reading a book, and watching Jeopardy!
Our Advanced Practice Providers
Amanda Everette, WHNP-BC
Amanda Everette, WHNP-BC, joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in March 2026. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and later earned her Master’s in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama. She is board-certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner through the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Amanda worked as a registered nurse for 20 years, including over 15 years in labor and delivery, where she cared for women throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. Amanda is excited to continue serving women in the Augusta community through both obstetric and gynecologic care.
When she is not in the office, Amanda enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family & friends.
Bre Garren, PA-C
Bre Garren, PA-C, joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2024. She is an Augusta native and attended the University of Georgia, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. She then received her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies from Augusta University and is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
When she’s not at the office, she enjoys traveling, watching Georgia football (Go Dawgs!), and reading.
Molly Heider, FNP-C
Molly Heider, FNP-C, joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2025. A native of North Augusta, Molly has a deep passion for women’s health and a commitment to patient-centered care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) before pursuing a Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner.
Board-certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Molly brings a wealth of experience to her role in women’s health. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a labor and delivery registered nurse at Piedmont Augusta Hospital, where she supported families through one of life’s most significant milestones.
Molly is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where women feel heard, valued, and empowered in their health journeys.
Outside of the office, Molly enjoys going to the beach, interior design, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
Rosemary Macuch, WHNP-BC
Rosemary is a Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with a focus in gynecology and menopause. She attended the APRN program at Emory University, which is #1 in the nation for its MSN program. She specializes in gynecology, including hormonal disorders such as PCOS, contraceptive counseling, and menopause, including hormone replacement therapy.
Rosemary is a member of ACOG, NAMS (North American Menopause Society), NPWH (National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health), ASCCP (American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology), IAFN (International Association of Forensic Nurses), JASG (Japan America Society of Georgia), and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
She believes in making patients partners in their own healthcare. This includes approaching each encounter with educational discussions to promote understanding, so that decisions are truly shared. Knowledge is power, and patient autonomy is honored best when choices are informed. Rosemary has also completed SANE training, meaning that she has specialized training in making gynecologic exams as comfortable as possible, both for women who have a history of trauma and women who simply want mindful pelvic exams.
Her hobbies include reading, traveling, and practicing language learning skills.
Jane Marie Miller, PA-C
Jane Marie Miller, PA-C, is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who completed her schooling in Charleston at MUSC. She is passionate about Women’s Health, wellbeing, and happiness. Her interests include PCOS treatment, hormone therapy, cancer prevention, and fertility. For fun, she plays tennis, hikes, travels, and enjoys time with her husband, two kids, and their rambunctious dog.
Jane studied for six years abroad in Spain and is bilingual. She loves Spanish culture, music, dance, and cuisine.
Taylor Safford, N.P.
Taylor Safford, NP, joined OBGYN Partners of Augusta in 2020. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Augusta University, then later graduated with her Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner from the Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is certified under the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Taylor’s background is in women’s health, specifically as a registered nurse at the University Health’s Women’s Center Operating Room. She is excited to continue her passion for women’s health to provide quality patient care.
Taylor and her husband live in Augusta, GA, with their two daughters.
